Where Purpose meets Passion, Creativity and Innovation
Innovation is more than just coming up with something brand new. It’s about learning from the best and applying their practices in your own community, learning something from another discipline and applying that into your own field. And vice versa – sharing the insights and mistakes you’ve learned along the way, applying what works in your own discipline into another.
Through performance arts, NOW! inspires and empowers synergistic innovations toward social, economic, and environmental sustainability. Founded in 2006, NOW! is a grassroots non-profit run entirely by dedicated youth volunteers.

Our Story
NOW: N__ O__ W__? We’ve long given up the quest for its acronym. “NOW!” it remains, bold and daring, demanding action this second.
Passionate about the arts, sciences, innovations, and sustainability, Janny Ke founded NOW! with the help of her best friends Chloe Tsang, Jiemi Gao, Angela Park and numerous others back in grade 10. Since its inception change-makers from diverse backgrounds have jumped on board to turn NOW! into a non-profit run entirely by youth volunteers. Through creative grassroots programs, NOW! has inspired and empowered 2600+ youth, many of whom have in turn been leading sustainability programming in their own communities. NOW! has been featured by media outlets including The Vancouver Sun, 24 Hours, and Sustainability TV.
We are extremely thankful for the generous support, advice, and guidance we have received from the community and beyond. Inspired by the power of communities, we are transforming NOW! into a movement that connects and empowers aspiring change-makers with latitude, opportunities, and mentorship to take their community service to the next level.

Walking the Talk
We also walk the talk by integrating sustainability and creativity in all of our activities. One example of this is our commitment to devising and instituting novel strategies in sustainable marketing for our programs, and sustainable theatre performances for our playwriting competition.
